Finger Lakes, New York

Tell us what you want. See it in under a minute.

Describe the piece — a lake, a camp sign, the front of the place you grew up in — and a drawing comes straight back. Nothing is charged for it, and nothing is cut until you have seen a proper proof and said yes.

Solid maple, cherry, walnut and five more. Oil or polyurethane, your choice of edge. Usually five to seven days on the bench once you have approved it.

Lake View Point at Naples, drawn the way it would be carved. Send a photo or a few words and something like this comes back.

How a commission works

Four steps, and you can stop at any of them.

First

Describe it

A sentence is enough. Add a photo if you have one and it gets used as the reference.

A minute later

See a first look

A line drawing of what we understood, generated while you are still on the page. Verifying that we agree before anyone spends time on it.

Then

Approve the proof

The real proof follows, made from the file the machine will run. That is the one you approve, and nothing is cut before you do.

Last

Cut and finished

Machined, hand-sanded to 220, and oiled. Boxed with corner protection, or arrange to have it delivered locally (Monroe and Ontario Counties, NY only).
